ACC facilitates quality professional development opportunities for college personnel and students, and continuously assesses the needs of the membership to identify new opportunities.

Annual Events:

ACC Conference

Since 1989, ACC has held the only statewide, comprehensive higher education conference in Arkansas. This annual event is designed for community college administrators, faculty, and staff to share ideas and collaborate on topics related to leadership, teaching, student success, workforce development, and more. This event is open to all employees of ACC member institutions as well as others interested in advancing community colleges and increasing education and training opportunities for Arkansans. Approximately 600 people attend this annual three day event.

ACC Leadership Institute

Established in 2008, the ACC Leadership Institute has provided leadership, higher education administration, and advocacy training to more than 200 emerging community college leaders in Arkansas. Many of our graduates have gone on to become college Presidents and Chancellors, Vice Presidents and Chancellors, and other key community college administrators. This event is open to ACC members who are nominated by their institution's President/Chancellor. Approximately 24 people attend this annual, multi-session event.

ACC Student Leadership Academy

Established in 2014, the ACC Student Leadership Academy has provided leadership training to over 200 community college students in Arkansas. Students participate in interactive sessions, group projects, and networking activities related to topics such as leadership ethics, communication, team-building, social media etiquette, and more. This event is open to ACC members' students who are nominated by their institution's President/Chancellor. Approximately 60 students attend this annual event.
